The centre was established in the year 1992 over an area of 105 ha. At present the total area of the centre is 285 hectares covering the breeder seed production of sugarcane in addition to other crops. In addition to this, centre is also involved in the capacity building through organization of trainings/field visits/kisan gosties etc. Centre was awarded Best Breeder Seed Production Centre under AICRP-NSP Award during 2016-17.
