Pantnagar Journal of Research
Pantnagar Journal of Research is published by G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, the first agricultural university of India established in 1960 on American land-grant model. The journal has been published in the name of “Pantnagar Journal of Research” from January 2003 to December 2013, later on changed to “International Journal of Basic and Applied Agricultural Research” (IJBAAR) which has continued till 2018. From 2019, the journal is again being published with its original title ‘Pantnagar Journal of Research’.
Pantnagar Journal of Research is a scholarly triannual multidisciplinary publication that accepts submission from a global researchers and features an international editorial board and peer reviewers. The journal is indexed in CABI and Google Scholar. The aim of the journal is to timely publish the quality original research articles for effective dissemination; and to publish the review articles by invitation in the recent scope area(s) of the journal as a guiding path for the researchers in the respective field(s).
The journal publishes fundamental/ basic/ applied Research Articles and Short Communications from various fields of Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Fisheries, Basic Sciences, Community Science and Technology. Up to 2018, the journal has been published as print journal with nominal printing charges. From 2019 ‘Pantnagar Journal of Research’ is being published as an Online Open Access Journal without any publication or processing fee. For regular and timely publication of journal Central Manuscript System has been adopted for automated processing of research papers. The submitted manuscripts are peer reviewed by a team of registered Subject Editor and two Review Editors having respectable citation index (h index and i Index) and recommendation of at least two editors is necessary for acceptance of research papers for publication in the journal.
All the manuscripts submitted to the journal are subjected to a double-blinded peer-review process. As per policy, reviewers, and the authors both do not know the identities of each other to ensure the fairest review of research papers.
The Editor(s) first evaluates all the manuscripts. Manuscripts rejected at this stage have poor grammar or English language, or are outside the aims and scope of the journal, or not written as per the journal's guidelines. Those that meet the minimum criteria are forwarded to at least 2 experts for review.
- Generally, all the manuscripts are reviewed by a minimum of two suitable experts in the respective subject area. The reports of all the reviewers are considered for deciding acceptance/revision or rejection of a manuscript, but the ultimate responsibility for acceptance or rejection lies with the Editor-In-Chief who makes the final decision.
- Editor-In-Chief can ask one or more advisory board members for their suggestions on a manuscript, before making the final decision.
- Review editors provide managerial support to maintain the integrity of the peer-review process.
- In accordance with COPE recommendations on ethical editing for Editors, Editors can assign any submissions they cannot handle (such as if they are the author of an article submitted to their own journal) to a member of the Editorial Board.
- The reviewers are expected to maintain the integrity of the double-blind peer-review. The reviewers should read the 'Guidelines to the Authors' before reviewing the research article(s).
Only Research Articles will be accepted and Review Articles will only be accepted by Invitation.
